Customs Union Working Party (Legislation and Policy) (G.9)

The purpose of the Customs Union Working Party Meeting, traditionally held – subject to approval by Coreper (the Committee of Permanent Representatives) – in the country holding the Presidency, is to discuss forthcoming Commission proposals which have not yet been officially submitted to the Council procedure and frequent issues relating to the customs policy. At the formal meeting, which is nonetheless conducted in an informal, relaxed atmosphere, opinions and views are exchanged concerning open dossiers on the agenda of the working party.
